What You Believe Isn't What's Real or True
The de facto truth of living in this realm.
My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways, declares the Lord. (Isaiah 55:8)
It's easy to quote. Easy to use interpret. Easy to claim to a meaning that doesn’t defy your learned and accepted norms.
You join a church. You connect and you serve. You become what you behold.
Focus is transformative. Natural law. Unavoidable. You WILL become like whatever you give the most focus and time.
So you return to this church service. You hear terms with vague meanings. You repeat them to be a good soldier. Without knowing what they mean. Or if they’re true.
“That's faith,” you tell yourself. As if following a random person’s explanation of timeless principles somehow endears you to your Creator.
He had actual witnesses, you know. Men and women who walked with him. They are with him. They lived with him. They saw him respond to children. They saw him settle disputes. They saw him chase out crooks. They saw him perform miracles.
If you ask them to believe some random account, they'd say no. . . He wasn’t like that when He spoke to me.
Their faith was memory. Hearing God actually speak. Believing Him when He did. But only after hundreds of miracles and healings and inexplicable wonders. This man defied every expectation and social norm. He was otherworldly. Yet he could pass through a room undetected.
What is this faith you speak of, quoting the interpretation of a hearsay of a retelling of a possible memory?
What do you gain from clutching these pearls so tightly? Is your inheritance so precious, or merely so vulnerable?
We each have a choice on whose voice we follow, it's never the voice we claim to follow. It’s always an echo of a copy of a possibility.
And yet we argue. We break up dinners and gatherings to defy one’s hearsay with a better hearsay. . . My non-witness is more authoritative than your non-witness. And I will insult you and your intelligence to prove it.
Ahhh . . . Feel the righteous anger surging: like Superman’s cells recharging by the solar rays.
This is the proof. Of my faith. I outargued him. I have won. For the glory of God and His Kingdom.
May He see my faithfulness and reward me in eternity.
Praise the Lord.
